‘PSL Ain’t Going Down start the move back up’ The Jet Wednesday league, 21st June, saw PSL Ain’t Going Down at home to the Postie Pats and after the first session it was looking comfortable for PSL taking it 4-1. The second session saw Posties Pats make it a closer affair, winning it 3-2 however, whilst Gordon Wilks for the Pats tightened things up even further with an 11th frame win, Kris Lord, Gary Sell and Adam Mills took 3 in a row for PSL in the final session and with it the 9-6 win, which saw them lift off the bottom of the table in to 6th position. Top of the table Court Jesters were away at Parkway and by the end of the second session, this match was already out of sight for Parkway with the Jesters 8-2 up helped, in no small way, with the Jester’s Steve Singh taking both his frames with a ‘break & dish!’ Parkway took 2 more frames via John Roe and Lynn Bridger in the final session but this convincing win for the Jesters saw them increase their lead at the top of the table. Court Gimme A Break took on the Court Kids and by the end of the second session, it was level-pegging with both teams taking a session each 3-2. By the end of the penultimate frame it was still all square at 7 a-piece leaving Carl Watkins for Gimme A Break going head to head against Ivan Knight for the Kids with the former taking the honours and in doing so, the win that see’s Gimme A Break securing their 3rdposition in the table. The featured YouTube Live-feed match saw Court Snapbacks against Court At The Bar. The first session was a comfortable one for the Snapbacks and with Court At TheBar then taking the next session 3-2, it was clear the Snapbacks weren’t going to have an easy ride. Court At The Bar’s John Lord took the 13th frame, not to mention his other two frames also, one of which was a cool ‘break & dish’, narrowing the Snapbacks lead to just one, but with Sean Hackett and Scott Beasley taking the last two frames, the win was achieved for the Snapbacks leaving them holding on well to second place but with Court At The Bar slipping to the bottom of the table. The Stanground Carpets & Flooring Thursday League, 22nd June, was put on hold for the Jet Knockout Cup Semi-finals. The featured YouTube Live-feed match saw Court Gold at home to Quinn’s Muppets playing for a place in the final and even with Anthony Pask for the Muppet’s taking both his frames, this turned out to be a very easy passage for Gold with a very convincing 8-2 win with Andy Buntontaking the all important 10th frame and the match not needing the 3rd and final session. The second semi-final match was an altogether different affair. Cross Keys Silver were drawn at home to Court By The Cops. The first two sessions were honours even with a 3-2 win for each team, with Lloyd Robinson for the Cross Keys achieving a ‘break & dish’ during the second session. By the 14th frame the teams still couldn’t be split with the score now at 7-7, the match headed into a final frame ‘Black Ball Shoot-Out’ to decide the winner – Cross Keys Silver took the honours 5-3 confirming their place in the final – this ‘shoot-out’ was captured ‘live’ and can be viewed on our Facebook page.
